While the breadth of our knowledge can only lead us so far, many times a technician is only as good as their tools. Here we are going to discuss some of the common tools we will be using on a daily basis, where to obtain these tools (if open source / freeware).  If you have a tool that you recommend please post it in the comments (please no link spamming) and we will review it and add it to the list.  While we have an affinity for open source, we do understand sometimes the “best” tool is a paid one.  If you would like us to add a paid tool you must send it to us via our contact page to be considered.
